The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is to empower children, girls and women through support, education, activism and creativity.
The Center for Girls successfully realized the 11th ArtFemine festival of feminist art and activism, titled "Amazing, Strong, Free". The indoor events were visited by over 240 people, and the street performance, was seen by over 2,000 of them. During 4 days, the festival hosted 14 important women from the artistic, scientific and activist scene.
About 20 Wiener Städtische Insurance employees visited the Children's Day Center and donated packages of underwear and clothes, personal hygiene and cleaning products.
